Get Involved!

NABC Youth 2011 needs your help to make this convention truly representative of the entire North American community.  Here are some ways you can get involved:

Youth Lounge and Art Exhibition
This year, we're designating a space within the convention center for youth attendees to find each other, chat, and enjoy each others' talents.  This is where we'll be hosting our own opening program, as well as many of our other activities throughout the weekend-- including a talent show, an open mic/coffeehouse, and an under-18 karaoke party.
To make this space truly ours, we need your artwork!  Whether you sketch, paint, sculpt, take photographs, or anything else, this is a great opportunity for you to share your creative talents with the rest of the North American Bengali Community.  We'll be setting up an exhibition in the room where we'll be displaying your work.

Literary Magazine
We want to use the program booklet for the weekend to display your literary talents as well.  We are looking for your poetry, short stories, essays, articles, and any other writing you're proud of and would like to share.  This will be an important part of starting and perpetuating a conversation about our experiences and identity, and a great opportunity for you to have your writing published and distributed to a broad audience.

Cultural Program
This year, the youth cultural program will be taking place on the main stage, so that the entire convention will be able to see your talents.  If you sing, dance, read poetry, or do any other kind of performance art (solo or in groups) we want to see what you can do!

Please refer to this for guidelines and instructions for submitting your work.

And, of course, if there's something specific you'd like to see at Baltimore this year, please email us to give us your suggestions.

We're very excited to hear from you!
